Create a Jewish Legacy encourages the creation of
bequests and endowments to ensure the long-term viability and sustainability of
the Richmond Jewish community.
Participating institutions include Beth Sholom Lifecare Community, Chabad of Virginia, Congregation
Kol Emes, Jewish Community Federation of Richmond, Jewish Family Services, Keneseth
Beth Israel, Richmond Jewish Foundation, Rudlin Torah Academy, Congregation Beth
Ahabah, Temple Beth-El, Virginia Holocaust Museum, and the Weinstein JCC.
Ask your attorney how you can Create a Jewish Legacy. Simply leave the
Richmond Jewish Foundation a bequest in one of the following ways: - A particular percentage
- A specific dollar amount
- A beneficiary designation
- An item of personal property, or
- A parcel of real property
to endow a cause of your choice forever!
BEQUEST - A gift of personal property contained in a will. Such property may include cash, stocks, bonds, mutual fund, land or other assets. It is regarded as synonymous with legacy.

• Bequest to Establish a Field of Interest Endowment
"I give and bequeath the sum of $x (or x% of my residuary estate) to Richmond Jewish Foundation, to be used to create the [name of family or loved one] Fund, a field of interest endowment fund, the income of which is to be paid for ______________ (you may choose one of the following or another field of interest: Jewish education, elderly, Israel, tolerance and community relations, arts and culture, or social services).
• Bequest to Be Used for the Genesis Fund

"I give and bequeath the sum of $x (or x% of my residuary estate) to Richmond Jewish Foundation, to be used by it for... (Temple Beth El, Beth Sholom Campus, Jewish Community Federation of Richmond, Jewish Family Services, Rudlin Torah Academy, Virginia Holocaust Museum, Weinstein Jewish Community Center, etc)."

• Bequest Perpetuating a Family Name
"I give and bequeath the sum of $x (or x% of my residuary estate) to Richmond Jewish Foundation, to be used by it to create the [name of family or loved one] Family Fund, an endowment fund, the income of which is to be paid year by year, for use for the general (or restricted) charitable purposes of Richmond Jewish Foundation.
